Sound Effects

As I approached the end of editing my documentary, it was time to add sound effects to the intro and outro. I wanted to choose a calm, but positive inducing sound that fit the footage being shown in both sequences.  I used Cap Cut to edit my film so I scoured through their sound effect options and went down to the “musical instruments” section. After going through each sound multiple times, I decided to go with “guitar plucking” both in the beginning and end.  To make the transition from the sound effects to the real live audio of my footage and my voice overs I added a one and a half second fade from each clip. The sound effects start as my stop motion title card plays and ends with the first clip summing up the introduction.  Before the credits start rolling, coinciding with the “guitar plucking” sound, there is a thank you message displayed after a series of pictures that portray the relationship between teachers and students that emphasizes the story told in my docume...

Planning Social Media Content

The social media page for my documentary helps promote the film and its meaning. To open up the page, I plan on having an introduction post that reveals the purpose of the account, the meaning of the film, and a release date.  The release of the film will be divided into a package that will be posted over the course of one month. The largest part of the package will revolve around the exclusive interviews of the interviewees of my documentary. Those people include teachers John Moffi (Social Studies), Genesis Perez (Environmental Management), and students Luis Gomez (senior), and Kylien Clark (senior).  The interviews will give an inside look into the film...

Script

For my opening sequence, I wanted to capture students walking in their normal routines in and out of classes and during lunch.  I positioned myself around different parts of campus to record these shots. I set my iPhone on my tripod and captured each shoot with footage to spare to avoid any complications down the line.  After organizing the different shots on my script, I recorded several different angles of students walking and talking throughout the school campus. On Cap Cut, I used four different clips of footage each timed at around five seconds with the audio being heighten...
