Reflection On Production Logo and Stop Motion Title Card

Ahead of the development of my film project between a short film and a documentary, I designed both a production logo and a stop motion title card for my project.

Creating a logo takes both a creative mindset and a source of inspiration. Both these necessities tend to come difficult, but this time it came rather easily.

As we continue to a sense of normality past COVID-19, my outlook on life and my personality has changed a lot, for the better. I have focused more on my mental health while learning how to balance school and extracurriculars as I navigate my senior year.

A sense of peace and calmness for me could come from a variety of sources. Oftentimes, listening to soft, chilling, music allows me to escape from reality to a source of good feeling. Certain colors like the sunrise and sunset also offer a feeling of tranquility. When designing my production logo and stop motion title card, I was driven by these factors to create something different.

For my production logo, I used Canva to implement my ideas relating to peacefulness. I was attempting to figure out how to balance color and design for a while, but I ended up with one that combined both. The sun illustrated above is split up into six sections colored by a sunset portraying their distinctness from each other. The palm tree that hangs over the production title, KP Films, acts as another factor of something that I find relaxing.

Using Stop Motion Studio, every idea used for my production logo was transferred to my stop motion title card. The sun is made up through its six different pieces that end up coming together and provides a contrast for my title. Instead of the palm tree, I implemented a wave-like motion and cut out with the by line at the bottom. Waves are something else associated with the beach and sunset that paint a calming picture.

The outcome of the production logo and stop motion title card are the beginning pieces to the film project that will require both learning and creativity. This project will run throughout the rest of the year implementing both story and camera techniques that are essential to the focus of media.

Final Creative Critical Reflection

How do your products represent social groups or issues? Mental health has become one of the most prevalent social issues, especially in a post-COVID world where many people are struggling with a return to normalcy. People spent months and years isolated from those around them. Teenagers missed out on crucial developmental years. Now, teens are struggling with mental health illnesses like anxiety and depression, and most are disconnected from essential support and resources. In the United States, those struggling with mental health illnesses have become stigmatized and are seen as dangerous and incompetent individuals, rather than being unwell.  Teens were participating in school online for almost two academic years and were away from their friends. The sudden change in reality that occurred because of the pandemic, has given teens time for reflection and personal growth. In the midst of personal development, the state of loneliness and being away from family and friends, has proven...
